Senior Technician (Drainage & Flood Risk)

Multidisciplinary Engineering and Environmental Consultancy, is searching for a Technician Drainage & Flood Risk Consultant to join a team of Consultants based in North Manchester.

This exciting opportunity will offer candidates the opportunity to work with a team of Flood Risk and Civil Engineers who specialise in Flood Risk Assessments, Hydraulic Design and Modelling, Surface Water and SuDS Projects for Local Authorities, Water Companies, Private Sector Clients and Government Bodies. Experience and knowledge of infrastructure engineering, SuDS and flood risk management would be preferable.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants are required to have an either a HND or BSc in Civil Engineering or Hydrology, and ideally 2 years+ working experience within a UK based Consultancy or Local Authority completing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Design.

Or; a HNC in Civil Engineering or similar with 4yrs+ working experience within a UK based Consultancy or Local Authority completing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Design.

Applicants will be trained to complete the following;

  • Flood Risk Assessments and Flood Risk Reports.
  • Contribute to Contaminated Land Reports.
  • Sustainable Drainage Systems and Strategies.
  • Drainage Design using AutoCAD and Masterdrain.
  • It is also beneficial for applicants to reside locally and for applicants to have experience of AutoCAD and GIS software.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake and support initial assessments and engineering investigations.
  • Identify solutions and involvement in design development.
  • Working with a team of specialists to develop innovative, sustainable and efficient solutions to programme and budget.
  • Actively promote our integrated team working ethic.
  • Ability to work independently.

As a Drainage / Flood Risk Engineer you’ll complete technical work including, flood risk assessments for planning applications, surface water management plans, drainage impact assessments, drainage strategy and details SuDS Design using AutoCAD and/or drainage software. You’ll manage projects, expand the team and develop new business opportunities. You’ll also work co-operatively across functions and business units to share information and ideas.

Geotechnical Engineer – Senior Post – Based North Manchester

Minimum 10 years’ experience

Salary: TBC

The LK Group are expanding their geotechnical and contaminated land team and require a highly experienced engineer with specific practical knowledge in foundations & geotechnics, geotechnical interpretation and providing design solutions to new builds.

The successful candidate will provide high level support to the head of our geotechnical arm of the company, with a view to help expanding and nurturing the Section with further staff in the future.  In addition, they will also aid the existing contaminated land and flood risk team.

The successful candidate will have an excellent academic background with relevant degree qualifications.

The following experience will be required:

  • Soil mechanics.
  • Site investigation design.
  • Report writing and interpretation.
  • Foundation design (including plot by plot detailed foundation plans).
  • Pavement design
  • Slope stability.
  • Management of projects.
  • Writing quotes.
  • Client and regulatory liaison.
  • Mentor junior staff.

Any candidate must be able to demonstrate the following abilities:

  • Work well within a team and other colleagues / sub-contractors.
  • Plan works, arrange and manage geotechnical investigation.
  • Provide high level support with regards to geotechnical matters.
  • Willingness to occasionally work away from home.
  • Good communicator in written and verbal skills.
  • Good computer skills and Microsoft applications.
  • Problem solver and lateral thinker.
  • Maintain client relationship.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Chartered in a relevant discipline or working towards chartership.

Senior Asbestos Consultant

3-5 years’ experience

Salary: £22-24K- per annum

Due to our recent increase in workload we are seeking a reliable, self-motivated individual for the position of Senior Asbestos Consultant reporting to the Director of Asbestos Services.  This is an ideal opportunity to develop your skills in a small to medium size company and provide added value to the existing team.

The successful candidate will have an excellent surveying background with relevant degree qualifications.  Experience in the asbestos surveying industry is required.

The following experience will be required:

  • Management Surveys.
  • Refurbishment / Demolition Surveys, scoping, undertaking and writing factual and technical reports.
  • Risk assessment in line with UK guidelines.
  • Running small projects.
  • Writing basic quotes.
  • Client and regulatory liaison.

Junior Asbestos Surveyor

Salary:- 12K – 15K per annum commensurate with experience + benefits including ongoing training and career development, company pension, free parking etc.

Job type: Permanent, full-time

Due to an increase in workload we are seeking a self motivated, hardworking, individual with the necessary organisational skills to undertake asbestos survey re-inspections across the North West of England. A full driving licence is a prerequisite. Full training will be given, therefore no experience is necessary.

 

Japanese Knotweed Surveyor / Sprayer
