Site Supervisor / Foreperson

Location:  Manchester. UK driving licence essential

We want you to use your ambition and initiative to help us complete projects safely and efficiently.

Like you, we care about people and the environment. Safety, Health, and Environment underpin our values and you will be responsible for these on your site. You will take pride in maintaining a good working environment and demonstrating a keen commercial awareness.

You will have experience at this level in earthworks, groundwork, demolition, or construction. Along with good IT skills, you will have SSSTS/SMSTS, CSCS, 3-day First Aid at Work certificate, and a full driving licence.

Flood Risk Analyst / Hydraulic Modeller

Due to the recent increase in workload, we are seeking a reliable self-motivated individual for the position of Flood Risk Analyst/Hydraulic Modeller.

Location: Hybrid working, with office attendance at our Head Office, based in North Manchester. UK driving licence essential

This exciting role will involve supporting and completing varied hydrological, surface water, flood risk and hydraulic modelling projects for our clients of consultancies, private sector clients, local authorities, water companies and private developers. 

Minimum qualifications:

  • MSc and/or BSc in Hydrology, Environmental Management or Civil Engineering or HND in Environment, Civil Engineering or Hydrology
  • 1yrs+ working experience within a UK-based consultancy or flood modelling specialist authority completing 1D and 2D modelling of watercourses.

or

  • HND in Environment, Civil Engineering or Hydrology or similar with 2yrs+ working experience within a UK-based consultancy or flood modelling specialist Authority completing 1D and 2D modelling of watercourses

Experience required:

  • Experience in flood risk assessment and hydraulic modelling using flood modeller, WINFAP4, REFH2 and HEC-RAS.
  • Modelling specialist authority completing 1D and 2D modelling of watercourses and surface water.
  • Flood risk assessments and flood risk reports.
  • Sustainable drainage systems and strategies.
  • Drainage design using AutoCAD and hydraulic design software.

Responsibilities:

  • Project management.
  • Mentoring of junior staff members.
  • Develop new business opportunities.
  • Undertake and support initial assessments and engineering investigations.
  • Identify solutions and involvement in design development.
  • Working with a team of specialists to develop innovative, sustainable, and efficient solutions to programme and budget.

Technical work:

  • Flood risk assessments for planning applications.
  • Flood estimation using ReFH2.
  • Hydrological assessments and hydraulic modelling.
  • Model build and verification using flood modeller and HEC-RAS.
  • Hydraulic modelling of watercourses as part of flood risk assessments for planning applications.
  • Surface water management plans, drainage impact assessments, drainage strategy and details SuDS design using AutoCAD and/or hydraulic software.

Graduate Flood Risk Engineer

This exciting role will involve working with a team of flood risk and civil engineers who specialise in flood risk assessments, hydraulic design, surface water and SuDS projects for local authorities, water companies, private sector clients and government bodies.

Experience and knowledge of infrastructure engineering and flood risk management would be preferable.

Minimum qualifications:

  • MSc and/or BSc in Civil Engineering or Hydrology.
  • 6 months of industry placement experience within a UK-based consultancy or local authority completing flood risk assessments and drainage design.
  • It is also beneficial for applicants to have experience of AutoCAD and GIS software.

Training to be given:

  • Flood risk assessments and flood risk reports.
  • Contribute to contaminated land reports.
  • Sustainable drainage systems and strategies.

Responsibilities:

Geo-environmental Engineer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Geo-environmental Scientist/Consultant to join our Swindon office. This is a challenging role that will see you deliver innovative and effective technical solutions to both internal and external clients.

Location: Remote working, with office attendance at our Swindon Office.

You will be part of our established team of Geotechnical and Contaminated Land experts, assisting in delivering successful projects. Your role will also be supported across our business, with skilled resources from all our other departments.

This is an ideal opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-growing small to medium-sized company and provide added value to the existing team.

The successful candidate will have an excellent academic background with relevant degree qualifications. Experience in the contaminated land industry would be preferred.

What you will be doing:

  • Phase 1 desk studies
  • Phase 2 site investigations
  • Gas and groundwater monitoring
  • Site work to include collection of soils and groundwater samples for laboratory testing and logging of geological material
  • Working within a project team playing a key role in a wide variety of environmental projects
  • Technical writing and input into environmental reports
  • Client liaison
  • Flexibility to work on sites across the whole of the UK

Key abilities for you to demonstrate:

  • Work well within a team and with other colleagues/sub-contractors
  • Plan works, arrange and manage site investigation
  • Availability and willingness to work away from home
  • Experience of undertaking site investigations
  • Good communicator with written and verbal skills
  • Good computer skills including use of Microsoft applications
  • Problem solver and lateral thinker
  • Full UK driving licence
