Foliage spraying – The plant foliage is sprayed directly using specialist herbicide treatment and equipment.

Stem injection – The plant cane is injected with a specialist herbicide

Dig, sift and burial

Infested soil is sifted on-site and roots buried or removed to landfill. Clean topsoil can be reused.

Regrowth is prevented through a four-year spraying programme or installation of a root barrier.

Burial

Japanese Knotweed Illustration

Japanese knotweed is relocated, space allowing, buried on-site and overlayed with a root barrier. Sealing with clean sub/topsoil prevents re-infestation.

Excavation

Japanese knotweed is excavated, followed by the most appropriate option for your site: off-site removal, sift and burial, or on-site burial.
