The LK Group has appointed Simon Johnson to the role of associate director in response to increasing business in the southern part of the country.
He will be based in the Group’s southern office and brings with him over 23 years’ experience in the assessment, remediation and management of contaminated land in support of regeneration and infrastructure projects.
Simon is a natural fit for The LK Group, with a shared ethos and strong history of de-risking sites, revising risk assessments, preventing excessive remediation and maximising development potential for clients.
He also holds key technical skills in the assessment of defence-related sites, and managing issues related to explosives, ordnance, radiological contaminants and chemical weapon agents.
Simon has joined The LK Group from Atkins and has also worked at BAE Systems and WYG. Throughout his career has acquired extensive knowledge of the southern market, particularly the south and south west.
His appointment comes as a direct response to steady and sustained growth for the southern office and he joins the expanding team lead by director, Ian Deans and technical director, Dr Paul Quimby.
Ian Deans said: “This is an exciting time for The LK Group, following a very successful 2019. We have delivered some key projects in our region for clients including Berkeley Homes, and our appointment to the ESB (Electricity Supply Board) GB Site Investigation Framework is a great opportunity for us. Simon is a key addition to our team and brings with him a wealth of technical expertise to support our clients with their development requirements.”
The southern office of The LK Group has recently relocated to new, state-of-the-art premises in Welwyn Garden City, taking advantage of improved transport links with its other regional offices and clients across the south of England.
