Did you know 35% of all STEM students (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) are women? Despite progress, on International Day of Women and Girls in Science, that’s nevertheless a rather troubling figure.
Indeed, we’re making progress in the provision of opportunities for women in STEM fields. But under-representation of women and girls in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics persists. To achieve sustainable development goals, we must ensure both full and equal access for women/girls to and participation in science.
Here at The LK Group, we are immensely proud of our balanced workforce of both young and experienced team members. In fact, currently, 42% are women!

Recently, Geo-Environmental Scientist Beth Ryder was asked to produce a short video for the pupils of Mount St Joseph Catholic High School in Bolton for their Careers and Aspirations Day. Beth talks about her career choices, including her past role as a Zookeeper….how cool Is that?
She also explains the path she took to enable her to access the role she fulfils today for The LK Group.
Check out Beth’s video below.
Well done Beth! Indeed, we’re sure this video will inspire the many female engineers and scientists of the future!
