Geoenvironmental consultancy and remediation contractor, The LK Group is in rude health today after scooping a much-coveted Green Apple Environment Award for delivering site investigation and land remediation at Victoria North’s Collyhurst Village for clients, Manchester City Council and Far East Consortium.
Launched in 1994, The Green Apple Environment Awards is the annual international campaign to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world.
The LK Group competed against more than 500 nominees with its Collyhurst Village project in the awards category for Environmental Best Practice.
Collyhurst Village is the first phase of Victoria North, the North of England’s largest urban regeneration project, set to create 15,000 new homes over the next 20 years. The overriding objective when working on the project was to design a remediation strategy and earthworks specification which would maximise the sustainable reuse of materials on the site. By informing this design, The LK Group was able to achieve sustainable development through significant value engineering and recycling of materials.
November 21st, 2022 marks the day when representatives from The LK Group will be presented with the winning trophy at an esteemed ceremony taking place at the Palace of Westminster in London.
