The LK Group was commissioned to carry out overnight drilling to minimise the impact to the local road network and avoiding direct drilling on the M62. The works were undertaken to ascertain ground conditions for a new gantry location.

THE SOLUTION
Cable percussive boreholes were drilled to circa 10mbgl to ascertain ground conditions. Strata was logged to BS5930, geotechnical and contaminated soil samples were taken, together with in-situ testing in the form of Standard Penetration Tests and careful monitoring and assessment of groundwater strike levels.
