THE SOLUTION
Following volumetric calculations, we determined that we could accommodate the majority of the contamination on site. Meanwhile, our Manchester Land Remediation services team could recover the relic foundation solutions of pads and ground beams to take place. The relic foundations were then used to re-engineer the ground and provide a construction platform.
The remainder of the contamination, located beneath the proposed warehouse building, was excavated and off-site removed. Constructing a new foundation system was our team’s next step in the Manchester Land Remediation project. Subsequently, we backfilled with inert material, adhering to current environmental regulations.
Finally, after successful handover to Cruden Construction, the warehouse was built and delivered on time, as per the requirements of their initial tender.
