Brownfield Regeneration – Congleton
The LK Group was approached by Wainhomes to assist on the site of a former works adjacent to the River Dane in Congleton. There was a number of constraints on site such as limited access, a propensity to flooding and archaeological issues.
We conducted in-house volumetric calculations for all cut/fill and devised a remediation strategy to alleviate costly disposals off site and any importation of fills to the subsequent void. We excavated and levelled the site, taking care to avoid the ongoing Archaeological dig that took place in conjunction with our works.
We also diverted a number of known and unknown water courses and culverts, to enable all construction traffic such as piling rigs and vehicles operated by the groundworker operate as normal on the site.
Despite this being one of our most challenging sites, we carried out the works and provided all construction platforms ready for the Client’s piling rig and for the groundwork to commence on time.
