Recognising the importance of unlocking vacant brownfield land to enable sustainable regeneration in our cities, The LK Group is happy to deliver site investigations for Salford City Council. These Salford Brownfield sites are on three developments that will pave the way for the Council’s largest public housing project in 50 years.

The demolition of three Salford brownfield sites

Following the demolition of the previous housing schemes, the three development sites now have planning approval. These include Clifton Green in Pendlebury and Ordsall’s Brassington Avenue and Ryall Avenue. Works are due to commence shortly on 104 of the social rent houses. That goes together with Seddon Homes who is the contractor to deliver these community-led housing schemes.

Salford City Council Mayor Paul Dennett describes this as “the beginning”, adding:

“Providing truly affordable housing has always been one of my top priorities and this marks a significant milestone in that journey. These developments and others will help tackle the crisis for the benefit of local people and all our communities. Providing quality affordable homes and apartments in different locations that are a mix of sizes that local people need.”

Colin Crompton, director at The LK Group, takes particular pride above all in their effort.

“We are proud to have supported Salford City Council and played our part in unlocking their brownfield sites. (We’re) delivering much-needed affordable housing and transforming areas into thriving communities. Communities, in fact, where people will enjoy living, working, and socialising.”
