The LK Group has posted record results as it celebrates 20 years in business.
The land and built environment consultancy and land remediation specialist has grown turnover by 11 per cent to £3.3m in 2016. Profits rose by 10 per cent over the same period.
Founded in 1998 by PJ Leyden, who came out of early retirement to establish Leyden Kirby Associates with civil engineer Philip Kirby, the family business is now run by managing director Conor Leyden. Other elements of the company are now managed by a team of specialist directors that includes Clair Leyden, Colin Crompton, Dave Anderson and Dr Paul Quimby, while PJ Leyden is still active in the business as chairman.
Conor Leyden said: “To report record financial results in our 20th anniversary year is a real testament to the exceptional reputation we have created for maximising the value of our clients’ land and buildings over the past two decades.
“As a business, we are passionate about kick-starting new housing developments and aim to reduce the costs that developers face when remediating land by between 50 per cent and 90 per cent to help increase the viability of residential construction. Over the past two decades, we have tackled brownfield land of all descriptions, having designed, project-managed and successfully completed remediation schemes for sites previously deemed to be economically undevelopable.
“We are now reinvesting most of the profits back into the business so we can grow further and capitalise on the construction boom in our key markets of Manchester, Liverpool and West Yorkshire. Expanding the business to become a one-stop-shop gives us a competitive advantage as it means our clients have the reassurance of receiving a high-quality service from just one supplier.”
The LK Group currently employs 35 staff across its Radcliffe and Liverpool offices.
