Introduction
Aggressive growing aquatic species, such as Australian swamp stonecrop (Crassula helmsii), Floating pennywort (Hydrocotyle ranunculoides) and Parrot’s feather (Myriophyllum aquaticum), can quickly choke waterways and resevoirs preventing access and potentially causing floods. Control is paramount to facilitate the everyday working of these resources. Not only this but these plants can also destroy the fragile ecosystems by out competing native species. In the case of Floating Pennywart, which can grow up to 20cm per day, it will quickly colonise the surface and cut out all oxygen and light to the life below.
LKPR will find the right method of control for the timescale and budget with protection of the ecosystems always paramount.
