Our Peter Dunn was filmed carrying out a geoenvironmental investigation on-site in Manchester for a Channel 4 affordable housing documentary. In short, speculation holds that the documentary is due to be air in 2020. It was the first visit to the site for the film crew. Moreover, they plan to film the entire build process of this new build affordable housing development.

The documentary will mark the centenary of affordable housing in the UK, since the implementation of the Housing, Town Planning, &c. Act 1919. Also known as the Addison Act, after Dr Christopher Addison, then the Minister for Housing.

The Act’s original aims were to allow the building of new houses after the First World War. Moreover, they mark the start of a long 20th-century tradition of state-owned housing, which would eventually evolve into council estates.
