Phase II Site Investigation and Risk Assessment

The Phase II study is often referred to as the site investigation stage. LK Consult offers a comprehensive site investigation service which can address contaminated land and water issues in combination with a geotechnical site investigation or coal mining investigation.

Services

LK Consult design and undertake full supervision of the site works using our highly trained and experienced staff. Our staff undertake site investigations with recourse to current guidance such as BS5930, BS10175, CIRIA C659 and CLR11 and whilst on-site are able to make instant informed decisions based upon site conditions. Whilst on site, our staff undertake sample collection in accordance with published protocols and ensures that all samples remain under our direct custody until dispatch to the laboratory.

As well as utilising tried and trusted intrusive techniques such as trial pits and boreholes we can also offer non-intrusive works such as geophysical surveys, which we have used previously in searching for mineshafts and landfill boundaries.

Further Information

A Phase II survey may include groundwater level logging or landfill gas monitoring and in this respect LK Consult can offer in house state of the art monitoring equipment to allow the fast collection of high quality data. In addition, LK Consult also own a state of the art PID/FID portable monitor which enables the in-situ monitoring of volatile hydrocarbon levels.

LK Consult have also used a portable XRF machine to provide site specific information on the contaminant levels in near surface areas within existing residential gardens.

LK Consult prides itself on the collection of high quality Phase II information as this is key to the site risk assessments.
